In Mexico, euthanasia is not legal and several bills to authorize it have failed in Congress. However, in Mexico City and states such as Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Michoacán and Yucatán, among others, terminally ill patients are allowed to refuse palliative treatments — something that some classify as “passive euthanasia.”
