A shooting attack in the state of Texas, in the United States, left three dead and 14 injured in the early hours of this Sunday (1st). The case is investigated by the FBI as a “potential act of terrorism”.
Among the dead was the shooter himself, who was confronted and shot by police officers at the scene. According to authorities, another 14 people were injured, three of whom are in critical condition.
The attack took place in a bar area popular with university students, which increased the number of victims at the time of the shooting.
At a press conference, an FBI special agent reported that the exact motivation for the crime is still unknown. However, he highlighted that there is “evidence in relation to the individual and in his vehicle that points to a possible connection to terrorism”.
The FBI’s Joint Counter-Terrorism Group has already joined the investigation to determine the circumstances of the attack and clarify whether there was planning or involvement of other people in the crime.
