A gang that uses artificial intelligence to commit fraud in Jaé, Rio de Janeiro’s electronic ticketing system, is the target of a Civil Police operation this Tuesday (3). The estimated loss exceeds R$64 thousand.
The investigation began after the crime was reported by a legal consultant from the company responsible for ticketing and re-registration of free services in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
According to the police, outsourced employees linked to a company contracted to work at registration stations were involved.
Those investigated used supervisory functions to carry out fraudulent validations of free cards for the elderly. In the system, non-existent CPFs, falsified documents and facial images generated by artificial intelligence were inserted.
