In an extra edition of the Official Gazette of the Union, a provisional measure (MP) was published that opens extraordinary credit of R$ 266.5 million for the recovery of cities in the Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais.
The MP was signed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The resources will be used to cover costs and investment in protection and civil defense actions, in addition to emergency assistance and the reconstruction of areas affected by heavy rains in the region.
The measure also aims to financially assist families who lost property and property in the tragedy. The benefit will be aimed at residents of municipalities that have had a state of public calamity recognized by the Federal Executive Branch.
