Petro says Ecuador bombed border with Colombia

by Marcelo Moreira

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, said that a bombing in the border region with Ecuador left 27 charred bodies. According to him, the evidence indicates that the attack was not carried out by illegal armed groups, nor by Colombian forces.

Petro once again raised the hypothesis that Colombian territory had been affected by an action from Ecuador. Furthermore, the Colombian called on Donald Trump to ask the American to intervene in the case and talk to Daniel Noboa, president of Ecuador.

The attack occurred one day after Noboa’s government began a major offensive against drug cartels in Ecuador, with support from the United States and coordinated operations by land, air and sea.
