A military helicopter belonging to the Qatari Armed Forces crashed in the country’s territorial waters on the night of March 21, resulting in the deaths of six people on board.

The accident, according to initial information, was caused by a technical failure.

Among the victims are three Turkish citizens — two of them members of the defense company ASELSAN and a member of the Turkish Armed Forces — in addition to Qatari military personnel and technicians involved in the operation.

According to the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, the helicopter was participating in training activities within the scope of the Qatar-Turkey Combined Forces Joint Command, the result of military cooperation between the two countries, which remains active in accordance with bilateral agreements.
