President Lula travels this Friday (20) to Bogotá, Colombia, to participate in the agendas of the Summit of Leaders of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), which begins this Saturday (21).
Issues on food and energy security, in addition to regional tensions, should be addressed at the meeting, as Itamaraty recently expressed “serious concern” with reports of deaths in the border area between Colombia and Ecuador.
In addition to Lula, other South American heads of state such as Yamandú Orsi, from Uruguay, are also expected to attend. Gustavo Petro, president of Colombia, will host the event. Another 20 representatives from African countries are also confirmed. The agenda of Brazilian authorities begins this Saturday.
