Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha have date night handled.
Indeed, the Scandal star and NFL alum enjoyed a rare night out at the 57th NAACP Image Awards Feb. 28. And it was a milestone night out for the duo as beyond making their first joint interview, they were also both walking the red carpet as nominees (her for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture for Shadow Force while he was up for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for The Knife).
“No matter what happens tonight we get to go home winners,” Kerry told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet Feb. 28 before Nnamdi chimed in, “It’s date night, we’ll have a good time.”
As for whether the When the Streetlights Go On actor prepared a speech in case of his win?
“Absolutely not,” Nnamdi, 44, quipped. “No, this is one of those ‘happy to be here’ type of moments.”
And Kerry, 49, echoed his sentiment adding, “It’s so special to be in a room full of people who are…running towards excellence and Black excellence, in particular.”
