Italian court rejects appeal and maintains law that restricts citizenship

👉 Before the new decree, which came into force in 2025, Italy’s legislation recognized the right to citizenship based on the legal principle of “jus sanguinis” — or “right of blood”, which guarantees the nationality of a country to the child of a citizen of that country, regardless of where they were.
