The Israeli Armed Forces say they have killed Ali Larijani, Iran’s Security Chief. The information was announced by the Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz, this Tuesday (17), but it remains unconfirmed by the Iranian regime.
According to Israeli media, Larijani was in an apartment with his son. Israel promised to continue with attacks to eliminate Iran’s main leaders, as aA statement from the prime minister’s office said Benjamin Netanyahu had ordered “the elimination of senior officials of the Iranian regime.”
Ali Larijani is considered one of the most powerful figures in the country, as is Gholamreza Soleimani, leader of the Basij volunteer militia, which plays an important role in internal security. Larijani would be the highest-ranking figure assassinated since Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei was killed on the first day of Israeli and American airstrikes on February 28.
