Iran announced this Friday (20) the death of yet another high-ranking official from the theocratic regime, which has been at war with Israel and the United States for almost three weeks.

According to information from The Times of Israel newspaper, the state news agency Tasnim confirmed that the spokesman for the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Ali Mohammad Naini, was killed in American and Israeli attacks.

The agency reported that Naini, who had served as deputy director and spokesperson for the Revolutionary Guard’s Public Relations Office since 2024, “was martyred.”

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards classified Naini’s death as “a treasonous terrorist act on the eve of the last day of Ramadan,” according to the statement released by local media.

This week, Iran’s Intelligence Minister, Ismail Khatib, and the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, the most relevant political figure in the country until his death, had already been killed.

Before that, the United States and Israel had killed Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, on February 28, the first day of the war, and senior military officers, such as the commander-in-chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, General Mohammad Pakpour, and the chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, General Abdorrahim Mousavi.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is designated a terrorist group by Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Ecuador, the European Union, Israel, Paraguay, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, the United States and Argentina.
