Lieutenant Colonel Geraldo Leite Rosa Neto was arrested on the morning of this Wednesday (18), at his residence in São José dos Campos, in the interior of São Paulo, after having preventive detention ordered by the State Court.
The police investigation investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Military Police soldier Gisele Alves Santana pointed out that he is suspected of the crimes of feminicide and procedural fraud. The request awaits consideration by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Judiciary.
The Internal Affairs Division of the Military Police of the state of São Paulo also represented the arrest of the officer to the state Military Court based on the same crimes, in addition to domestic violence. The arrest warrant was granted on Wednesday (17), and carried out this Wednesday (18) in the morning, by an Internal Affairs team.
The officer must be taken back to the capital of São Paulo, where he must be interrogated and formally charged in the IP. Subsequently, you must undergo criminal examinations.
The investigations, which are being conducted jointly between the Civil Police and the Military Police, identified relevant differences between the statements made by the person being investigated, especially with regard to the couple’s relationship and the facts that would have motivated the victim’s alleged suicide. Significant inconsistencies were also found regarding the lieutenant colonel’s conduct after the weapon was fired, until the incident was formalized, which compromises the credibility of his version.
The expert and medico-legal evidence, analyzed by the Technical-Scientific Police, indicates that the suicide hypothesis is unfeasible, in addition to pointing to signs of a change in the location of the crime.
