France began to operationally use the AST-78 interceptor drone, developed by the company Asterodyn, strengthening its defense capacity against aerial threats, especially drones.

The company confirmed that it has already delivered the system to the country’s military forces, consolidating the use of the platform in real scenarios.

Designed for demanding missions, the AST-78 stands out for its combination of high speed, range and versatility. The equipment can reach up to 400 km/h, operate within a radius of 30 km and transport loads of up to 1 kg, characteristics that make it an efficient alternative to traditional systems, which are often more expensive or less agile.

Another differentiator of the system is its ability to launch both from the ground and from the air. Tests carried out with helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft demonstrated the drone’s flexibility, allowing operators to reduce response time by positioning the interceptor closer to targets.

Furthermore, the AST-78 has robust performance, managing to reach an altitude of up to 6,000 meters in just three minutes. Based on thousands of hours of flight in extreme environments, the model was developed to intercept fast, high-altitude threats, expanding the tactical options of French forces in modern operations.
