Students pre-selected on the Student Financing Fund (Fies) waiting list for the first semester of 2026 have until 11:59 pm this Wednesday (11) to complete their registration in the program system.
This step is mandatory so that the candidate can continue in the student financing contract process. The procedure must be carried out via the program page on the Single Portal for Access to Higher Education, by logging into the Gov.br platform.
The Ministry of Education (MEC) held a new call for students last Saturday (7). The names of those pre-selected can be consulted in the Fies tab within the portal.
Financing for low-income students
Fies is a federal government program that offers financing for low-income students to pursue degrees at private higher education institutions.
According to the Fies 2026 notice, candidates pre-selected for Fies Social can also request to be hired with a full subsidy, which can cover up to 100% of the educational costs charged by the college.
After completing the registration, students will still need to complete the next steps of the process, which include validating the information with the educational institution and the financial institution responsible for the contract.
