Botched’s Terry Dubrow Reveals Most Overrated Plastic Surgery—& One You’ll Regret

Sometimes, bigger isn’t always better.

Case in point: Brazilian butt lifts. After all, Dr. Terry Dubrow revealed why he believes it’s a good thing the cosmetic procedure isn’t as popular as it once was.

“Taking fat and transferring it to the buttock to make the buttock huge is actually really dangerous,” the board-certified plastic surgeon explained on the March 5 episode of E!’s Hot Goss. “It’s the most dangerous procedure in plastic surgery because there’s little veins in the buttock that connect to the main inferior vena cava going back to your heart.”

“If you inadvertently inject into it, you get a fat embolism,” Terry added, referring to what happens when fat particles enter the bloodstream and can block blood flow to other organs. “It’s not good and that can be very problematic to say the least.”

While the Botched star is grateful to see the drop in BBLs—with celebs like Stassie Karanikolaou even reversing the procedure—he isn’t against stars going under the knife. In fact, he’s impressed with how some are moving forward with their plastic surgery endeavors.
