The President of the United States, Donald Trump, receives Latin American leaders aligned with his government in the city of Doral, near Miami, Florida, this Saturday (7).
The meeting is part of the group called the Shield of the Americas, in which President Lula was not invited. According to the White House, all countries involved seek to “promote the freedom, security and prosperity of the region”.
The list includes right-wing and extreme-right figures, such as Javier Milei, from Argentina and José Antonio Kast, president-elect of Chile. Also participating in the meeting is the American Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.
