Chrysler’s Cheapest Minivan Replaced

by Marcelo Moreira

  • Chrysler has killed the Voyager minivan after six model years.
  • The new entry-level Pacifica LX trim will replace it.
  • The new trim launches alongside a refreshed Pacifica for 2027.

After six years on the market, the Chrysler Voyager is dead. Introduced for 2020 as a cheaper option to the Pacifica, following Dodge’s discontinuation of the Grand Caravan, Chrysler is replacing the Voyager with a new Pacific LX trim.

While the name is new, not much else is. According to Chrysler, the Pacifica LX won’t get the latest facelift. The carryover minivan “retains its familiar exterior design while offering a budget-friendly entry point.” The LX will feature power sliding doors, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel.

The Pacifica LX, available only in front-wheel drive, starts at $43,490, including the $1,995 destination charge. It’s $100 more to start than the 2026 Voyager.

Model 2027 Price 2026 Price
Pacifica LX $43,490 $41,990 (Voyager)
Pacifica Select $46,540 $46,440
Pacifica Limited $51,700 $52,095
Pacifica Pinnacle $56,905 $58,585

Refreshed Pacifica

Chrysler is launching the new LX trim alongside a refreshed 2027 Pacifica, which is still available in Select, Limited, and Pinnacle trims. The minivan receives an updated exterior design, including the new Chrysler badge, vertical LED projector headlights, and an illuminated grille.

Inside, the Pacifica Pinnacle gets standard Blue Agave Nappa leather and Copper Alloy bezels. The rest of the lineup receives new trim accents. Select trims and above come standard with a height-adjustable power liftgate.

Under the hood is the same 287-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine and nine-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is also available for an extra $3,345. Stellantis killed the hybrid version earlier this year.

The 2027 Pacifica Select is only $100 more than the outgoing model, while the mid-grade Limited is actually $395 cheaper. The top-tier Pacifica Pinnacle is $1,680 cheaper than before.

You can order a new 2027 Pacifica now, with Chrysler expecting the updated minivan to begin arriving at dealerships sometime this summer. The automaker confirmed with Engine1 that the Voyager name is officially dead for 2027.

Motor1’s Take: The Chrysler Pacifica originally launched for 2017, and despite its age, sales for the minivan were up two percent last year. The brand sold over 100,000 minivans last year, and the updated version should continue that success.
