Caterpillarthe company behind the famous yellow construction equipment, has unveiled a concept that could mark its entry into the pickup truck market.

Inspired by some images shared on the Internet at the end of 2024, generated by artificial intelligence, developed Caterpillar the concept Cat Trucka heavy pickup truck that CATlogo and the classic yellow colors on the body.

“You couldn’t take your eyes off it – and neither could we. [Die Kunden] dreamed of torque and towing capacity. Those were the easy parts for Caterpillarso we went further to see how we could help them even more,” the company wrote in a statement.

The pickup is basically a Ford Super Duty with CATlogo, but has some interesting features, such as a drone launch station, a driver fatigue monitoring system, and a camera system to detect if workers are too close to heavy machinery.

The pickup also features an additional screen in the dashboard that houses the company’s AI assistant as well as the rest of the monitoring software mentioned above.

Interested? For now, everything points to it being just a concept, and Caterpillar has not yet confirmed whether the project will actually be produced.

Nevertheless, unlike other prototypes that seem too good to be true, it is not difficult to imagine that CATpickup could be on the road in the future.
