The identity was also not disclosed. According to authorities, the person was alone in the cabin — which has capacity for up to eight occupants — at the time of the accident. A video showing the moment of the fall was recorded by a witness and given to the local press. Initial plugin text The incident occurred in the afternoon, at around 2,000 meters altitude, when intense gusts hit the Mount Titlis region. The cabin would have detached from the cable and rolled down the slope before coming to a stop. Rescue teams were mobilized immediately, including a helicopter from the Rega air service, which operated in the difficult-to-access location. The area was cordoned off by authorities, while other skiers using the cable car system were still being evacuated from the mountain. High wind warnings were in effect throughout the day. According to the Swiss meteorological service, gusts could exceed 130 km/h in areas above 1,800 meters. Furthermore, despite the sun and the temperature around 8 °C — above average for the altitude — the conditions on high ground made the rescue operation difficult.
