At a meeting held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, foreign ministers from 12 Arab and Islamic countries condemned the attacks carried out by Iran against targets located within their territories.
Since the beginning of the offensive promoted by the United States and Israel against Iranian territory, Tehran has responded with retaliatory actions, affecting North American interests in neighboring countries. Last Wednesday (18), the Iranian government announced the intensification of bombings against energy facilities linked to the USA, after an Israeli attack hit a gas field in Iran.
During the meeting, the ministers also discussed attacks targeting countries that are members of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Furthermore, they criticized interference in international navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and reinforced the need to respect the sovereignty of States.
In the end, the foreign ministers demand that Iran immediately cease its military actions, comply with international and humanitarian law, in addition to adopting principles of good coexistence between nations. For them, these measures are essential to contain the conflict.
