A woman experienced a miraculous recovery after a metal rod pierced her breast in a car accident.
The nursing student Janina Akporavbare was driving her car on Highway 10 in San Bernardino, California (USA) when a pole broke through the bottom of her vehicle and pierced her chest.

Akporavbare arrived at the hospital in less than 10 minutes and after several surgeries, she experienced a miraculous recovery. “Doctors later said she had only a 1% chance of survival. She survived,” the association said.
Parts of her liver, kidney and intestines were removed and she missed a semester of college, but she is grateful to be alive. In a letter sent to the association’s paramedics last month, Akporavbare described them as “angels”.
“My parents and friends believe in this too. You are amazing people. I am glad God sent you to me,” she wrote in the letter, which was shared by the association in a Facebook post.
“It’s a great honor to be a part of their story and we are incredibly grateful for their strength and faith. Moments like these remind us that there is a real person behind every call,” the association responded in the post’s caption.
After her recovery, Akporavbare is excited to continue her studies and is more determined than ever to help others by becoming a nurse. “I want to help people like the nurses do Loma Linda University Medical Center helped me,” she agreed KCBS.
