A footage showing a fighter F-16 Ukrainian destroying a kamikaze drone Grant-2 from Russia began circulating on social media, according to a report on the website The Aviationist.

In the video, the Ukrainian fighter is seen chasing, attacking and destroying a drone Grant-2the Russian version of the Iranian kamikaze drone Shahed-136.

In the background, you can also hear the noise of the M61 Vulcan in the form of M134which is effectively a scaled-down version of the cannon used by the F-16 to shoot down the Russian drone.

Soldiers on the ground can be heard celebrating the successful attack as pieces of debris from the drone fall through the air, apparently in a wooded area.

This is the second time this type of attack has been captured on video, although the new footage, which was first posted on Telegram, is the clearest yet.

Russia has used the drone Shahed-136which designates Grant-2extensively during the invasion of Ukraine. They first appeared in the second half of 2022.

Drones of this type have been used to attack critical infrastructure and military installations, as well as civilian buildings. Registered modifications show that some 200-kilogram drones were equipped with anti-aircraft missiles.
