Images show collision between two US Navy ships Images released on social media this Friday (13) show the moment when two United States military ships collided in the Atlantic Ocean, near South America. The collision occurred on Wednesday (11) between a US warship, the destroyer USS Truxtun, and a tanker, the USNS Supply. The episode was revealed by the newspaper “The Wall Street Journal” and later confirmed by the US Navy. US Southern Command spokesman Colonel Emmanuel Ortiz said the collision occurred during a refueling operation and that two crew members were slightly injured. The US Navy destroyer USS Truxtun Disclosure The images released were recorded by a crew member of one of the vessels, hit on the rear side by the other ship (see the video above). A horn is then sounded, and the vessels begin to move away from each other. 👉 The Wall Street Journal stated that collisions involving Navy warships are relatively rare and can be fatal. In 2017, 17 US sailors died in two collisions between Navy destroyers and merchant ships in the Pacific.
