According to The Times of India newspaper, 26 people were on the ride. A video that went viral on social media shows the moment when one of the ends of the equipment comes loose after a rotation on the axis itself. Then the structure hits the ground hard. The place was full because of the weekend. According to the local press, among the victims is a police officer who was trying to help the occupants. He died after the other end of the toy fell on him. The Times of India reported that the agent was about to retire. Authorities said an investigation has been opened to determine the causes of the accident. The government also offered assistance to victims and families. The fair where the incident happened is called Surajkund International Craft Mela and is one of the biggest cultural exhibitions in India.
