A Ukrainian startup has started manufacturing airless segmented wheels for ground drones and military vehicles.
the company, Crimea Technologyannounced the beginning of the supply of the new systems to the units of the armed forces of Ukraine, with the shipments being provided free of charge and financed through voluntary donations.
The system replaces traditional air-filled tires with a modular structure consisting of replaceable rigid sections mounted on a steel chassis.

According to the manufacturer, the main advantage is the complete elimination of caps, since the wheels do not depend on internal air pressure. In the event that one of the segments is damaged, it can be quickly replaced in the field without the need to disassemble the entire wheel.
The sections are made from vulcanized recycled rubber and are installed on a metallic structural base – a combination designed to provide durability, flexibility and good grip on different types of terrain.

The company states that the wheels were designed to maintain high mobility in snowy, muddy areas and on unpaved roads typical of combat zones, thus reducing downtime caused by tire damage.

The technology is of particular interest among operators of unmanned ground vehicles, who often deal with shrapnel and metal fragments during logistics, clearance and explosives transport missions.
Qirim Technology emphasizes that the system can be adapted to different sizes, including armored vehicles such as Puma, Stryker, BTR-80VAB and M1117, thereby expanding the potential for military and dual-use use.
