According to the information published by the Ukrainian army, resources considered to be of strategic importance for Russian operations in the region were concentrated at the site.
The 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade said the depot was located on Russian territory near the border of Ukraine’s Sumy region. According to the unit, Moscow forces used the area as a support point for attempted breakthroughs.
The warehouse contained large quantities of drones, munitions and light vehicles used to transport unmanned aerial systems teams. The brigade said Russia considered the area safe, but the concentration of equipment made it a prime target.
Ptashka Drones, the company that carried out the operation, said around 10,000 drones were stored at the site and at least 10 units were destroyed. The company emphasized that it used drones with optical fiber communication, which can operate at a distance of up to 50 kilometers.
