The Iranian delegation and the Omani authority that mediated the meetings stated that progress had been made. The American press reported that White House envoys were dissatisfied. Earlier, the Iranian foreign minister called on the United States to abandon “excessive demands” to reach the agreement. With tensions in the Middle East at an all-time high, the American government has authorized non-essential diplomatic staff at its embassy in Israel to leave the country.
