The United States has approved the possible sale of 30 model attack helicopters AH-64E Apache Guardian to Israel, in a deal valued at up to 3.8 billion dollars.

The confirmation was announced by the United States Department of State and published on the official website of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA). In addition to helicopters in the most advanced version of Apachethe package includes 70 engines T700-GE-701Dadvanced electro-optical systems of the M-TADS/PNVS type, 30 AN/APG-78 Longbow fire control radars, missile warning equipment, night vision systems, 60 M36E8 training missiles as well as modern navigation equipment that supports the M code.

The agreement also includes a full support system: training of pilots and crews, supply of simulators, ongoing technical assistance and spare parts, in order to ensure the integration of the helicopters and the maintenance of the operational competence of the fleet over time.

One of the main advantages of AH-64E is a system MUMT (Manned-Unmanned Teaming), which allows pilots to control unmanned aircraft directly from the cockpit, receive real-time video and coordinate combined attacks – thereby improving situational awareness and operational efficiency.

Today the Israeli Air Force operates two main Apache models with the local nicknames “Peten” and “Saraf”, stationed mainly in the 113 and 190 squadrons. The reception of the AH-64E version represents a significant technological leap for the Israeli attack aviation, with improvements in connectivity, lethality and survivability on the battlefield.
