In 2025, the Unified Health System (SUS) performed at least 14.7 million elective surgeries across the country, the highest number recorded in one year. The number was celebrated by the Federal Government this Friday (6).
The record surpassed the 13.6 million procedures in 2024 and was celebrated by President Lula and the Minister of Health, Alexandre Padilha, during an event in Salvador this Friday.
For the government, growth is directly linked to public policies adopted to reduce queues and expand the population’s access to health services.
