The Federal Supreme Court (STF) officially opened criminal proceedings against federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) this Thursday (19). The decision comes after the First Panel of the Court formed a majority, in November 2025, to accept the complaint presented by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR). The parliamentarian now becomes a defendant for the crimes of coercion during the process and attempted obstruction of justice.
The PGR’s accusation is based on statements that the deputy allegedly made during his stay in the United States. According to investigators, Eduardo sought support from American congressmen to impose sanctions on STF ministers and other Brazilian authorities, such as the cancellation of visas and economic retaliation.
