“The Secret Agent” did not win either of the two categories in which it competed at the Bafta Awards, the biggest award in British cinema. The film was nominated for Best Film in a Non-English Language and Best Original Screenplay. The award ceremony is one of the most relevant bellwethers of the season, especially for productions seeking to consolidate their place in the Oscar race.
Bafta 2026 takes place in London, this Sunday (22). Known as the “British Oscar”, this year’s award has two other Brazilians competing: “Apocalipse nos Trópicos”, by director Petra Costa, competes for Best Documentary; and Brazilian Adolpho Veloso, who was nominated in the Best Photography category, for his work on “Sonhos de Trem”.
