Chappell could leave with a couple of Grammys, however, including at Sabrina’s expense. They’re squaring off in the Record of the Year category, Chappell for “The Subway” and Sabrina for “Manchild,” as well as for Best Pop Solo Performance.
But the 27-year-old, who won Best New Artist at last year’s Grammys, explained to Zuri that the red carpet portion of the evening was “overstimulating.”
“And,” she continued, “people are just filming you and you don’t know what they’re doing with it, so, it’s kind of crazy!”
Asked what she hoped people meant when they say “Chappell’s got a way,” the singer replied, “That I do it my own way. Which is kind of my whole vibe. I like breaking the mold, so I would think that. Hopefully that!”
