Russia has placed about 100 fighter and attack aircraft, including newer models, in the storage area of the Lipetsk air base.

The information was shared by the Ukrainian portal Militarnyiwhich cited an analysis of the profile The Military Watchwhich posted satellite images on its X profile.

In early 2022, the storage area housed 57 MiG-29 fighter planes, 25 MiG-31 interceptor aircraft, two Su-24 bombers, three Su-25 fighter jets and seven Su-27 fighter planes.

Two MiG-29 were also removed, probably to preserve the flying capacity of the operational aircraft or to fulfill export contracts. At the same time two became Su-24 and one Su-27 added to the storage area.
