Kurganmashzavod, part of Rostec’s “High Precision Systems” holding, supplied this year’s first TM-140 all-terrain vehicle for mineral exploration operations in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
The information was released on February 25 by Rostec.
The equipment will be used in conditions typical of the region, such as compacted snow, permafrost and mountainous terrain. Yacútia is known for its low temperatures and limited infrastructure in remote areas, factors that require specific logistical solutions.

The vehicle was acquired by a Khabarovsk geological exploration company belonging to the OGK Group holding. The main function will be to transport cargo and support teams of geologists involved in prospecting for mineral resources.
According to the manufacturer, the TM-140 has undergone multi-level testing before delivery. The supplied unit is equipped with a passenger module, additional fuel tank and winch for operations in difficult-to-access terrain.
The vehicle’s cabin can accommodate up to seven people. The passenger module can accommodate a service team of up to eight members.
The load capacity is up to four tons. The operational range is 550 kilometers, reaching 870 kilometers with the installation of additional fuel tanks.

All-terrain vehicles produced by Kurganmashzavod are used in the oil, gas and mining sectors, as well as search and rescue operations conducted by the Russian Emergencies Ministry in northern regions of the country such as the Komi Republic, Arkhangelsk Region, Murmansk Region, Chukotka Autonomous District and Krasnoyarsk Krai.
