The company Kurganmashzavod, which belongs to Rostec’s “High-Precision Systems” division, has delivered the first TM-140 caterpillar all-terrain vehicle of the year for mineral exploration activities in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The equipment is designed to operate in conditions typical of the region, including compacted snow, permanently frozen ground (permafrost) and mountainous terrain. The vehicle was purchased by Geology Exploration Company from the city of Khabarovsk, which belongs to the OGK group. Its main purpose is to transport cargo and support teams of geologists engaged in locating mineral resources.
According to the manufacturer, theTM-140 Passed a series of multi-stage tests before delivery. The supplied unit is equipped with a passenger module, an additional fuel tank and a winch for operation in hard-to-reach areas.
The driver’s cabin can accommodate up to seven people. The passenger module allows the accommodation of a service team of up to eight employees.
The carrying capacity is up to four tons. The operating range is 550 kilometers, and it can be increased to 870 kilometers by installing additional fuel tanks.

The all-terrain vehicles produced by Kurgenmashzvod are used in the fields of oil, gas and mining, as well as in search and rescue operations carried out by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the northern regions of the country, including the Republic of Komi, Arkhangelsk Region, Murmansk Region, Chukotka Autonomous Region and Krasnoyarsk Region.
