The Public Ministry of Santa Catarina (MPSC) requested the exhumation of the dog’s ear for direct examination. At the conclusion of the initial investigation, the aggression had only been detected by the veterinarian who treated the animal, without additional examinations. A teenager was identified as responsible for the attacks.
The police now have a 20-day deadline set by the prosecutor’s office to complete the new investigations. New statements were also requested, from a doorman and a security guard, to determine whether or not there was a crime of coercion during the process.
The public ministry also opened a procedure to investigate the conduct of the general delegate in the case. According to the Santa Catarina Civil Police, it will comply with the orders quickly.
