As part of these measures, Rzeszow and Lublin airports, in southeastern Poland, had flights temporarily suspended to allow military aviation to operate freely. Border tension The two cities are close to the border with Ukraine, and Rzeszow is considered one of NATO’s main logistics centers for sending weapons to Kiev. Later, the military command reported that aviation operations in Polish airspace had been terminated and that there had been no violation of the country’s territory during the episode. The warnings in Poland came after Russia launched a large-scale air strike against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure overnight. Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said electricity generation and distribution facilities had been hit. “Russian criminals carried out yet another massive attack on Ukraine’s energy facilities. The attack continues,” the minister wrote on Telegram. He also said that electrical sector teams are ready to begin repairs as soon as safety conditions allow. Faced with the damage, the Ukrainian government ordered emergency power cuts in several regions of the country. The FlightRadar24 service recorded the presence of NATO aircraft in the region during the suspension of flights in Poland. The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that the two airports were temporarily inaccessible due to military activity related to Polish state security. Last month, Rzeszow and Lublin also had operations suspended in a similar situation. At the time, Polish authorities said that it was a routine procedure and that there was no direct threat to national airspace. See the videos that are trending on g1
