Pirelli will become the new official tire supplier for the Porsche Carrera Cup North America from the 2026 season.

The multi-year deal means that for the first time in the championship’s six-year history, the branded series will run on the Italian manufacturer’s tires at the circuits.

The official debut of the partnership will take place during a joint series test at Sebring International Raceway in February. On this occasion, the new Porsche 911 Cup generation 992.2 will be presented publicly for the first time with tires Pirelli.

The P Zero DHG will be the official tire of the series

Porsche Carrera Cup North America will use the model P Zero DHGwhich supplies all Pirelli-supplied GT championships from 2025. The compound was developed with an emphasis on consistent performance, higher thermal stability and a wider performance window during races.

In the event of rain, the series will use the Cinturato WHB, the standard wet tire for GT competitions supplied by the brand from 2025.

Another important element is the presence of the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) label on the new P Zero tires. The certification guarantees that the natural rubber used comes from plantations managed according to strict environmental criteria, ensuring traceability and separation of materials throughout the production chain.

Connection between track and road

The announcement comes shortly after Pirelli confirmed the development of specific versions of the P Zero R and P Zero Trofeo RS tires for the road-going Porsche 911 GT3, reinforcing the strategy of transferring technology from motorsport to production models.

According to Volker Holzmeyer, president and CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America, the partnership opens a new chapter for the championship. Claudio Zanardo, president and CEO of Pirelli North America, emphasized that the agreement expands the brand’s presence in the prestigious championships in North America.

The 992.2 will compete in only four global championships in 2026: Porsche Carrera Cup North America, Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.

The official season opener will take place March 18-20, again at Sebring, as part of the traditional Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring race program, part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
