This Tuesday (17), the Federal Police (PF) executed four search and seizure warrants against public servants. The operation was determined by the Federal Supreme Court (STF), based on representation from the Attorney General’s Office.
The action investigates possible data leaks from the Federal Revenue Service involving STF authorities. The warrants are served in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Bahia. Precautionary measures were also determined. Among them, monitoring by electronic ankle bracelet, removal from public service, cancellation of passports and ban on leaving the country.
In a note, the Federal Revenue claimed that it “does not tolerate deviations”, especially those related to tax secrecy. They also claim that an internal investigation had already been launched at the beginning of the year.

The Federal Revenue of Brazil does not tolerate deviations, especially those related to tax secrecy, a basic pillar of the tax system.
In addition to the procedures within the scope of the investigation, reported today (2/17/2026), based on information provided by the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service itself, there is a prior investigative procedure in partnership with the police authority, the results of which may be disclosed in due course.
On January 12 of this year, the STF requested the Federal Revenue Service to audit its systems to identify deviations in access to data from Court ministers, relatives and others in the last 3 years. The work was included in a procedure that had already been opened the previous day by the Internal Revenue Service based on news published in the press.
The audit, which involves dozens of systems and taxpayers, is ongoing, and deviations already detected were preliminarily reported to the STF rapporteur.
Federal Revenue systems are fully traceable, so any deviation is detectable, auditable and punishable, including in the criminal sphere.
Since 2023, data access controls have been expanded, with strong restrictions on access profiles and expansion of alerts. 7 disciplinary processes were concluded during the period, with 3 dismissals and sanctions on the others. The same rigor guides and will guide the entire process.
