Finnish company Patria Group has released the first images of its new TRACKX all-terrain tracked armored vehicle during field tests, marking the model’s public debut in real operational conditions.
The material was distributed via the company’s social networks and, in addition to mobility in difficult terrain, also shows the inside of the driver’s cab for the first time.
The video shows the TRACKX overcoming obstacles, traversing uneven terrain and operating in challenging environments. This highlights the project’s focus on advanced tactical mobility. The demonstration reinforces the vehicle’s positioning as a modern solution for land forces operating in extreme scenarios.

Next generation platform
The TRACKX armored personnel carrier was officially presented in June 2024 and was developed as part of the multinational FAOM program financed by the European Defense Fund. The project is carried out in collaboration with industrial partners and participating countries; Series production is scheduled to begin in 2027.
According to Patria, the platform is designed to replace aging armored vehicles such as the M113 and MT-LB and offers greater mobility, better protection and greater operational versatility.
Capabilities and specifications
- Transport capacity: up to 12 fully equipped soldiers
- Weight: about 12 tons
- Payload: up to 3.5 tons
Operating environments: Roads, forested areas, steep slopes, swamps and deep snow – without sacrificing protection or performance
Armament: Basic configuration with 12.7 mm machine gun, with future option for combat modules with different weapon systems
The combination of tracked running gear, relatively low weight and modular architecture positions the TRACKX as a modern alternative for protected transport tasks, support missions and operations in terrain where wheeled vehicles reach their limits.
