The governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), is the target of yet another impeachment request presented in the Legislative Chamber of the DF in the wake of the Banco Master investigations. This time, the request was presented by the parties PT, PV, PCdoB, Rede Sustentabilidade and PDT.
The document justifies that Ibaneis committed responsibility crimes during BRB negotiations to try to buy the institution.
The parties point to three crimes of responsibility, namely: acquisition, with public resources, of goods at a price higher than the market price; financial operations without compliance with legal regulatory standards and illicit enrichment of third parties.
However, for the request to move forward, the approval of the President of the House, Wellington Luiz (MDB-DF), an ally and party colleague of Ibaneis, is necessary. Wellington Luiz said that, as of this Tuesday (3), the prosecutor’s office must have already received the requests and that there is a deadline of 20 working days for a response.
