The round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine ended without progress towards a peace agreement. This Wednesday (18) marked the second day of conversations, held in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting lasted around two hours — much less than the meeting on Tuesday (17), which lasted six hours.
Neither side signaled concrete progress toward a consensus. The Russian delegation classified the meeting as “difficult”, but the chief negotiator sent by Vladimir Putin stated that new talks should take place soon, with mediation from the United States.
American President Donald Trump has been pressing the parties for an agreement to end the conflict, which turns four years old next week.
