The information was confirmed by Connor Hagan, FBI spokesman. The elderly woman was last seen on January 31st. A few hours before a supposed rescue deadline, Savannah Guthrie released a video in which she stated that the family is experiencing “an hour of despair”. She did not mention the deadline, but said that relatives in Arizona continue to believe that the mother is alive. “She was taken and we don’t know where, and we need your help,” Guthrie said in a video posted to Instagram. She urged people across the country to remain vigilant. “It doesn’t matter where you are, even far from Tucson. If you see something, if you hear something.” The mysterious disappearance mobilized authorities and drew national attention — from United States President Donald Trump, who spoke with Savannah Guthrie last week, to amateur investigators who began sharing clues, theories and rumors on social media. The FBI began asking the public for help through digital billboards installed in large cities in Texas, California, Arizona and New Mexico. The agency is offering a $50,000 reward for information. Last week, several press outlets received alleged ransom letters. At least one of them demanded money and set deadlines for payment. The first ended on Thursday (5). A second was set for Monday night. Authorities have not confirmed the authenticity of the letters, but stated that all information is being investigated. She was last seen there on January 31 and was reported missing the next day after failing to attend church. DNA tests indicated that there was blood from the elderly woman on the porch of the house where she lives. The doorbell camera had been disconnected, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos. There is growing concern about Nancy Guthrie’s health. She needs daily medication, has a pacemaker and a history of high blood pressure and heart problems, according to emergency service audio recordings released by the website Broadcastify.
