Mocidade Alegre won the São Paulo Carnival title with the story “Malunga Léa – Rhapsody of a Black Goddess”, presented on the second day of parades. The school paid homage to the trajectory of actress Léa Garcia, who passed away in 2023, celebrating her artistic legacy and cultural importance.
The presentation began by enchanting the audience with the front committee, which included Thelma Assis representing Léa and Fred Nicácio as Abdias Nascimento. Among the visual highlights were the open-wing car with African clothing and allegories that represented symbols such as the Kikito award and figures of black goddesses, including an Iemanjá that released water.
Despite a rushed finish to meet the regulation time, the school secured the championship. This is the thirteenth title for Mocidade Alegre, which was last champion in 2024.
