Marielle case: STF resumes trial with the expectation of votes being presented

The First Panel of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) resumes this Wednesday (25) the trial of the criminal case against those accused of ordering the murder of councilwoman Marielle Franco and driver Anderson Gomes.

The expectation is that the ministers will present their votes. The first is the rapporteur, Minister Alexandre de Moraes. Soon after, minister Cristiano Zanin, minister Cármen Lúcia and, finally, minister Flávio Dino. The trial began this Tuesday (24) with the request for conviction of the defendants made by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR). The lawyers of those accused asked for the group’s acquittal.

The defendants in the case are: Domingos Brazão, former counselor at the Rio de Janeiro Court of Auditors, Francisco Brazão, known as Chiquinho Brazão, former federal deputy, Rivaldo Barbosa, delegate and former head of the Rio Civil Police, Ronald Paulo de Alves Pereira, former police officer and Robson Calixto Fonseca, former advisor to Domingos Brazão.
