The Internal Affairs Division of the National Justice Council released a note informing that it had opened a process to investigate a complaint of sexual harassment against the minister of the Superior Court of Justice, Marco Buzzi. According to the CNJ, the case is being processed within the scope of the National Justice Inspectorate, in secrecy, following the provisions of Brazilian legislation.
Finally, the Council reinforces that the victim’s privacy and integrity will be preserved. The young woman’s mother told the court ministers what had happened. They sought out the president of the STJ, Herman Benjamin, and told him what happened.
In a statement, Marco Buzzi said he was surprised by the content of the insinuations and reinforced that they do not correspond to the facts. According to information, the young woman’s family had been friends with Minister Buzzi for more than 20 years.
