President Lula embarks this Tuesday (17) to fulfill commitments in India and South Korea between February 18 and 24, with the aim of strengthening commercial partnerships with both countries.
In New Delhi, the Indian capital, the president will participate in the Artificial Intelligence Summit alongside heads of state, such as Frenchman Emmanuel Macron and the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez.
Lula is also expected to attend the Brazil-India Forum 2026, which will bring together more than 250 businesspeople from both nations. During the event, the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) will open its first office in New Delhi.
Brazil and India intend to strengthen ties in strategic areas such as food security, digital and technological transformation, oil and gas, as well as partnerships in the aeronautical and pharmaceutical industries. The topic of rare earths will also be on the agenda, as both countries have large reserves of these strategic minerals that are still little explored.
During his visit to South Korea, Lula intends to advance the opening of the South Korean market for Brazilian beef. The president must also address the free trade agreement between Mercosur and the Asian country, negotiations for which began in 2018.
