How Did Anne Burrell Die?
Anne’s cause of death has not been determined yet. The medical examiner will perform an autopsy, though. According to TMZEMS was called about a woman “in need of assistance” and found Anne unresponsive in her Brooklyn, New York, apartment on June 17, 2025. After failing to revive her, paramedics pronounced Anne dead.
The Independent later reported that the NYPD was investigating Burrell’s death as a possible drug overdose. According to multiple outlets, paramedics discovered pills around the late chef when she died. Per People, police later confirmed that a handwritten suicide note dated the morning of her death was found in her bedroom, along with journal entries reflecting similar thoughts.

Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”
