France and Canada open consulates in Greenland in repudiation of Trump’s threats

According to the ministry, the new French consul general will meet the needs of the French community in Greenland and “will have the mission of deepening existing cultural, scientific and economic cooperation projects with the territory, while at the same time strengthening political ties with local authorities”. With this, France became the first European Union country to establish a diplomatic representation on the Arctic island.
