The president of the Federal Supreme Court canceled the meeting scheduled to discuss the creation of the so-called “code of conduct”.
The decision was taken by Edson Fachin after statements by Alexandre de Moraes and Dias Toffoli in plenary. This Wednesday (4), during a session, the two defended that judges should be business owners and be able to give lectures.
So far, Dias Toffoli has not commented on the trip he took on a jet with one of Banco Master’s lawyers or about the sale of a resort in the name of his brothers and a cousin to Daniel Vorcaro’s brother-in-law.
In the case of Alexandre de Moraes, his wife’s office, Viviane Barci, signed a contract worth 129 million reais with Master.
According to the newspaper O Estado de São Paulo, relatives of STF ministers act in more than 1,800 cases at the Court or Superior Court of Justice. At least 70% of the cases were filed after the magistrates assumed their seats at the Federal Supreme Court.
Of the current ministers, only Cármen Lúcia and André Mendonça do not have relatives with actions pending in both Courts.
